Torrential rain brought 52mm of rainfall in just 90 minutes across Sydney’s CBD as the east coast was battered by a fierce and stormy rain bomb.

More like bad drainage system. 😂
Global warming at work.
All that water is heating everything up.
Much needed rain. Looks good, more rain still needed
Oh damn. Channel 9 opened their comments
Good water system, why they can build a water pump system, so they can restore the rainwater, has water system in Australia
What global warming?
But, but, but, you conservatives and Murdoch tell us there is no global warming. How many more 'freak' weather event will finally change your mind?
After staying at home on the weekend I decided to go out today lol what luck 😊😅
no more ‘climate change’ the climate has officially changed, and it will only get worse over time, thank you climate deniers.
I mean a job for 3 months is better than no job now you're back on the social
Nah this is not good! Its still summer and all this rain. The government are up to something, they're really testing our wits up here in Townsville.Stay safe all!
WOW!!! The rainfall in Sydney is absolutely Epic!!! Even in London, UK I would have to back a few decades to see rainfall like that. But to be fair it was never as bad. Floods like that destroy homes the Sydney government need to have a serious look at the drainage in the city. Unless the city is surrounded by hills the water level shouldn't be as high as that.
Send a bit down south please ! 😮
be safe everyone <3
Sponge road.
Councils used to have crews that cleaned out 5he storm water drains ..that doesn't happen any more
Tomorrow they will be saying we are in a drought 😂
😢stay safe all.God speed to help and protect all.
They think we were born yesterday and never experienced rain storms after all it is the rain season get a grip . You should be doing reports on why the same roads get flooded every time it rains go and interview the councils
stay in doors yea they r really listening lol
Dayum
Actually it was predicted
Commmmmmments!!!!!
It seems like few people are aware of the risk to their engine of driving through high water. Hydrolock your engine with water ingestion and you might need a whole new engine from the damage. Expect one or some of destroyed conrods, crank, crankcase, head, block or bearings.
If you don't NEED to drive through high water, don't! Find a way around or reschedule or delay your trip. You might not get where you want to go AND need to spend big on fixing your car.
Drainage 😢,
0:57 hahaha my brother, You need a new car
Cloud seeding
Several Engineering and technical solutions can help mitigate such situations as given below:
1. Flood Warning Systems: Implementing advanced flood warning systems that use sensors, weather forecasts, and real-time data to predict and alert communities about potential floods. This allows for timely evacuation and preparation.
2. Stormwater Management: Improved stormwater drainage systems and infrastructure can help redirect excess water away from populated areas, reducing the risk of flash floods.
3. Green Infrastructure: Increasing green spaces and implementing green infrastructure solutions like permeable pavements, bioswales, and retention ponds can help absorb rainwater and reduce runoff into storm drains.
4. Embankments and Levees: Constructing embankments and levees along rivers and flood-prone areas to contain and divert floodwaters.
5. Urban Planning: Incorporating flood-resistant building designs and regulations in urban planning can minimize flood damage to infrastructure and homes.
6. Dams and Reservoirs: Properly managed dams and reservoirs can help regulate water flow during heavy rainfall periods, reducing downstream flooding.
7. Community Education: Educating communities about flood risks, emergency preparedness, and response plans can enhance resilience and reduce the impact of flash floods.
***These solutions require Engineering expertise, technological innovation, and community engagement to effectively address the challenges of extreme weather events like flash floods.
I slept right through that
