  1. If it were possible to build an NFL offensive tackle in a laboratory, including all aspects of the position – size, strength, athleticism, balance, intellect, mentality, coachability, etc – the result would be Jordan Mailata.

Aussies need to understand how remarkable it is that he's even on a roster, much less dominating. There is no shortage of players with every ounce of his physical gifts, who never play a minute at the highest level.

His success is testimony to his grit, determination, courage, and not least of all, the parents who instilled in him the value that made his rise possible.

Well done, Jordan. Your next stop is Canton.

PS: for the uninitiated Australian audience, Canton, Ohio is the site of the Professional Football Hall of Fame in the US. It is widely considered the birthplace of the NFL. And yes, he's that good.

  2. All of the Eagles fans in the USA, especially in the Pennsylvania region, love Jordan and have so much respect for him. He works hard, is a gentle giant and is the epitome of Philadelphia spirit, a spirit that caused our independence. We have adopted him as one of our own!

  3. hopefully this starts a trend of players chasing the nfl dream… nrl and super rugby are on a small scale, compared to nfl and i love the game much more… this is where the money at. all i know there are only a handful of kiwis and aussies play the greatest game in the world

  4. @PaulJames-b6 he just a proud samoan… aussie, no denying that… jai opeitia and joesph parker do the same thing.. due to everybody knows aust, hardly anyone knows samoa… lol they might think he abborigine lol

  5. lol at the comments…. end of day he samoan heritage lives in aust, and it was austrilia not nz or samoa got him to where he at.. all i know if he was living in samoa or nz the dude would never been noticed… by know he be twice his size and driving a truck

  6. Thank you to the Mailata family for trusting the PHL Eagles organization. To see your son/brother/cousin/uncle move thousands of miles away must have been difficult. All of Philadelphia and Eagles have received him as family here, and we’re watching out for him and Niki. I’m lucky to say that I’ve run into both of them several times in the off-season and both Jordan and Niki are so joyful and friendly.

  7. When it was first rumored that the Eagles might draft Jordan in the late rounds (it ended up being the 7th) fans thought "why not?" It seemed a cute and improbable story. Now he's an All-Pro (a big deal) and a Super Bowl Champion. Wait for the movie because it's coming.
