Cyclone Alfred is approaching the south-east Queensland mainland after buffeting Moreton Island. The storm weakened to category 1 late last night but is still expected to bring heavy rainfall, with the potential to cause life-threatening flooding near and south of the core. Hundreds of thousands of people are without power in south-east Queensland and into northern NSW. | *Subscribe and 🔔: http://9Soci.al/KM6e50GjSK9*

  1. Lets face it, the greed of the electrical authority – putting profit before maintenance – explains a lot – about a failing system, this should be fully investigated, when this storm is over,

  2. Most over hyped storm in history. They would have you believe its the end of the world instead of a tropical storm. All the reporters standing around in not a breath of wind forecasting the end of the world.

  3. We are becoming more and more sensationalised like US media, every single day. When I was growing up, this would have been reported as a 5 minute review. Now, there are anxiety ridden and panic driven specials being aired every few hours. Pathetic Australian media. Did you run out of hairdressers claiming bankruptcy stories? The media is reaching a new level of desperation and absolute embarrassment here in Australia. Just like the US. Who ever is calling the shots needs to step down. NO ONE cares. No wonder the mainstream media is now well below lawyers and used car salesmen as being trustworthy, or watchable. 'People should now stay at home and watch our coverage on 9'. Point proven. Wake up you complete puppets.

  4. Great reporting 9 , you have been reporting for days that it was going to hit Bribie Island , well now you say it is crossing now but nobody there , you show many places but not where you should be , again letting people on the Northside down again , disappointed.

  5. This is all nothing more than King Tides and a tropical storm. The absolute media hype over this is ridiculous. I lived in QLD for 30+ years if this is there idea of a cyclone heaven help them if a real one arrives

  6. People should get together and ban our local media all the hype and evacuation and the money wasted by the government for a power outage what happened to all the destruction that was meant to happen pfft what a joke

  7. Welcome to what North Queensland goes through a couple of times every summer, now that it's hit Brisbane where the politicians HAVE BEEN IMPACTED maybe they might do something about helping NORTH QUEENSLAND
