Forgive me for my ignorance – I''m English, though have spent some time in Queensland. I'm also an avid reader. Queensland has always flooded. Hence the 'Queenslander' house – a house built on stilts for flood protection and for air flow in the dry. Did you all forget that stuff. That's a great point!

  2. I ask everybody to join in our prayer group. Jens Grigull lay preacher.

    Psalm 46

1God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in times of trouble.

    2Therefore we will not fear,

    though the earth is transformed

    and the mountains are toppled

into the depths of the seas,

3though their waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake in the surge.

    Blessings

  3. Honestly we get the picture but why is this reporter standing in flood waters, ankle deep or not. A lady got swept away herself the other day from trying to walk through waters & had to have SES save her…. Absolutely idiot behaviour.

  4. hotel vouchers for the flood victim waiting patiently for the insurance welfare cheque it looks dangerous to be homeowner scary stuff would renters be worried or do they get free hotel voucher because they earned it paying rent tax or will gst pay the free hotel voucher so china key cutter shop can justify its free university dormitory

  5. Gotta laugh at thyalwayschech@ saying the rain in northern QLD isn’t normal weather patterns in Australia at this time of the year…lol *(moron)! Maybe he should try looking backwards over the last 1000 years weather patterns in Australia and not Zimbabwe

  6. Crisafulli, every politician is full of talk in situations like this. I went through the 2019 floods in Townsville after the water receeded they all disappeared. We were left to deal with trying to get basic food items. Major grocery stores did nothing, just kept hearing from them trucks cant get through, rail lines flooded. Why are we still dealing with trying to deal with Brisbane or further south. How many floods before someone turns on a bulb in their brain….oh NQ may need a stocked warehouse to service NQ. You keep telling everyone you know what it is like up here do something about it instead of repeating what every other politician has said before you.

  7. They carry on about building resilance but they have been having floods there since the sixties so why would you keep making the same mistakes and keep building in an area that is prone to flooding you would have to be bloody idiots but the worse part it costs the rest of the Australian people because the Federal Government keeps giving them money which is proudly sponsored by the taxpayers and this also pushes everyone else's insurance up . Seriously when isn't Queensland flooding.

  8. It happens every so often but our state government want to put money into staging Olympics games why not use that money to build better as the primer says they help rebuild but better I believe when I see it

  9. Gday from Ingham, people in good spirits, but advice for the rebuild – building basic infrastructure like a power substation in the most flood prone area of town, not so smart. They make new dwellings build to the 100yr flood mark, but not Ergon.

  10. Why mention the phrase " build back better" thats a world economic forom phrase… I guess next the premier will be telling us we will own nothing and be happy..this premier is a puppet…why are they releasing the dams now and not doing it a month ago when its odviously the wet season…this guy should be voted out, standing there like superman. What a clown 🤡

  11. I live in North Queensland all my prayers go out to people who have lost their homes the Police and Firefighters and hospitals are doing everything they can you not alone may God wish you with Protection and love through out these hard times 💔😣

  12. Gak ada guna kalian berdoa pada Tuhan kalau kalian tak laksanakan perintahnya ha is semua kalian dibumi bukan hanya Australia semua akan disapu itulah akhir jaman tiada berkesudahan sampai swkuanditaklukkan diounahkan semua
