Euthanizing mammals that are capable of breathing air because they’re taking up space on the beach seems like a cruel thing to do. Especially considering that sonar from all the boats and submarines are probably the cause of them beaching like this.

I imagine this being similar to how a whale might feel if it found 200 humans floating in the middle of the ocean, most drowned, a few survivors but no hope of actual survival. They wouldn’t know exactly what lead to the situation, maybe a plane crash, maybe a ship sunk, maybe a cult committed mass suicide….a whale wouldn’t be able to comprehend the cause, but they’d know something very bad and unusual had occurred.
That’s how I see this.
