  1. Would be nice if someone who knew the area actually did the reporting. Some simple facts – like- what you saw is water held back below the levee. The town is actually not flooded yet. The river simply swollen. Less fear propagating and more simple facts needed people.

  2. in the real estate market view, the flooding areas (and where there are water courses) in anywhere in the past were the cheapest regions. however, people have forgotten about it. we find the flood affected lands and roads in the cities and rural areas very frequently. those area's housing prices were the worst in the past, you will know the reason why they must've been.
raining gives many dangerous and laborious life in those areas. people knew before purchasing their homes in those areas could get a flooding risk anytime in the future. but people had ignored and sold the homes for very expensive prices.
we can easily find the responsible bodies for the sales who are the real estate agent, conveyancer in lawyers office, landers in the banks, the bank lawyers, and anyone involved in property sales.
in the housing crises, people were devastating to get the housing which must be omitted taking right procedures.
the one who caused this housing crises would be highly blamed i strongly believe.

  3. Always funny reading people's 'detailed analysis' of an issue in a town they know nothing about. 'Why do they rebuild there?, Why not just move the town?, Don't let homeless people (FROM THE FLOOD) use abandoned houses?' First of all, everyone whos lived here or has grown up here knows full well that it floods. It has always flooded. I remember playing in floodwaters as a kid (yes, looking back now it was extremely gross). Like so many other towns, including Brisbane, were built deliberately on rivers for the purposes of logging. They would float the logs down river to be collected at coastal town before it hit the sea. There's a well known story of when settlers first started building in Lismore. The nearby tribe came and warned them not to build as it floods bad. Did they listen? No. So what? You want us to just pack up and leave? Oh sure. You have all your equity and life tied up in your house and your town. In this day, with the cost or living, lack of affordable housing.. You really want me to continue? Wake TF up to yourselves and stop using issues people have no control over to support you own political narrative!
