Twins Bridgette and Paula Powers, who became an international sensation for speaking in unison during an eyewitness account of a carjacking in Australia, are speaking with Inside Edition. The 47-year-old sisters, known as the Twinnies, dress alike, share a bedroom, and work together at their bird rescue center. Some on social media are not buying the way they talk in sync. “If people want to believe that we rehearse a conversation, let ’em,” they say.

  1. I'm annoyed that social media has taken a story of tragedy and loss for one family and turned the focus on the entertainment value of the twins! I dont hate towards the twins. I hate the fact that we can so quickly take a story of tragedy and turn it into a comedy. Have some respect for the family who lost a loved one and give them the support and time to grieve! 😢

  2. I don’t know why people think they’re faking it? This is nothing unusual. It’s a biological trait commonly found in Idential and conjoined twins. They can often finish off each others sentences or predict what their sibling will say.

  3. Spending their whole lives together it's entirely feasible they can mentally predict what the other will say with high accuracy. Also, they would tend to develop the same speech patterns anyway. Add to that a degree of slight out-of-sync that comes and goes as one listens to the other before picking up on the predictable flow. Also, mostly their in sync commentary that we see is on commonplace matters and reactions that would naturally be more mutually predictable. More of a test would be more complex questions dealing with matters where their interests differ. But this might be difficult since they seem to share all the same interests.
