They made astronomical profits in recent years. The greed is catching with the company as people have had enough.
yeah, but what's the overall net profit? for all we know it could be $190 billion, and if by that, not making that extra $190 million is just like a mid-wage working person not making an extra couple of half-yearly dollars. just like a brush off the shoulder. big deal. greedy much. also you speculate us, as consumers, cross-shopping…uhm yeah, you do the same with coles in cross-pricing – one week you're on special and conveniently next week coles is on special for the same products. >>>colesworth<<< you're not fooling anyone
That wasn’t news, that was an ad!
Can see why ..they took out the express lane .. woolies didn't .I have gone into coles and IV though …gee …I have seen criminals more organized then this business …you grow old while your waiting for service .. always easy to get into coles and hard to get out of …coles service is crap ..I never shop there any more ..
That will teach them a valuable lesson…dont take us for a fool keep putting prices up until ppl rebel ..there still ripping you off , trying the prices on to see if your silly enough to pay there rip off prices
Fresh food ppl ..every time you buy there berries there rotten on the shelf
Haha what a fake piece of propoganda 💩💩💩
Were all going to aldi ya rip offs
America and Australia have proven that a two party system only benefits politicians and their crony lackeys, but the weirdest part is it seems to satisfy citizens who are being treated like brainless idiots.
It's only partly due to the strike, it's due to the Woolies boycott working.
This segment is absolute nonsense. What's the point moaning about the pocket change they lost when their rip off profiteering has been going on for years previously. Ooh shucks only $1.4 billion this year….honestly apart from rampant government incompetence greed both personal and collective is one of the main drivers of this cost of living crisis
Propaganda machine at it finest again!
Wonder why disappointed with the results both woollies and Coles havnt learnt their lesson with prices who in their right might would buy a large jar of coffee at $400grams for $32 when you can get it for under $20 I've got 4 large jars now you got rocks in your head if you buy at$32
You're prices !!! Gouging customers!! Make cheaper prices !!!!
Wokeness continues to be the big coprate downfall. Go woke go broke
loss somewhere in exec bank acc yes loss. time to ditch supermarket and be self sufficient
How do you propose to fill these ships with crews. Recruiting is at an all time low because the Navy went WOKE.
So it should. Boasting about unbelievable profits while many suffer hardships makes me sick. They should be FORCED TO SUPPORT MEALS ON WHEELS 100% IN EVERY COMMUNITY.
They’ve been making record profits since covid, so it’s humbling for them to see a loss.
Oh well, lucky they make millions charging us for bags.
$8 for lollie snakes.
I see why ur not selling anything.
I find that hard to believe. I call fake news. I call misinformation. I call BS.
Everyone should just shop at Aldi! Food sits on the shelves at Coles and Woolworths for too long because no one wants to pay the overpriced costs. People go in for convenience, grab three items, and walk out having spent $40. Then, when the products are close to their expiry date, the stores finally reduce the prices.
The cost of kids’ lunches these days is outrageous—it’s crazy!
Oh dear…
Colesworth 😅
A profit hit of 190 million is nothing when your making billions!
And don't get it twisted Woolworths and coles are not rivals.
1.4 billion profit. And they complain. Also how much did Coles pay for this ad?
Clickbait who are they kidding
I didn't watch because … Well it's channel 9. But if the click bait title is correct .. Woolies made $1bill instead of $1.19bill in profits. Still not sad.
Bohoo they made a few cents less while they spend their profits on build mega factories or is it due to people being aware they are getting Ripped off and Taking there business elsewhere. They're charging 50% to 150% more on all products within last few years. Who out here is warning 50% more wages?
Billion profit, poor Woolies, and right to New Year, one item last Dec, for $3, now $4, 25% increase!!!!!!
