Chinese labour force is extremely cheap comparing with western, they are forced to work more than 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, and only paid US$500/month. With increasing quality of products, China is taking wealth away from Australia, US and Europe. To be hornest, Trump is trying to increase tax of Chinese products to 160%, but that's far more than enough, 1000% more tax may help you to keep your wealth in your country. Chinese domestic economy is very bad now, 80% people earning less than US$1000/month now, and they do not want to spend money, only less than 20% Chinese earning more than US2000/month, so the Chinese economy depends more on exports, if you can't increase the tax of Chinese products, I don't think your products would be more attractive than Chinese.
