Peter Bowman’s Beach Red

Before Spielbergs Saving Private Ryan, one of the best war movie you’ve never heard of!

  1. How come there’s no subtitles for the Japanese when they speak their language

  2. The guy who does the sub titles is certainly far from being a pro. But I imagine he or she put in a lot of hard work. And I do pick up a good deal of dialogue that I would otherwise have missed. I am age 77 and my hearing is going down hill. I just wanted to say thanks.

  5. First R rated movie I saw when I was 9 years old in 1967. Some of the scenes haunted me for a long time especially when the guy got his arm blown off. It looked so real back then

  6. This was the first war movie I can remember seeing, was probably 5 at the time. Just remember that a few of the images tripped me out and I looked at my little green plastic army men differently afterwards.

  9. Saw this in 1968. One of the best anti-war movies ever made. It was the support feature and impressed me so much I can't recall the big film on the program. Cheap, yes, and definitely about Vietnam. Loved Rip Torn's OTT sergeant and Burr De Benning's hillbilly. The Japanese were portrayed sympathetically for a change. As the title song put it "My enemy was very young and looked a lot like me." Yeah! There's a message in there!

  10. I have a question for all of you. I am looking for an war movie but can't find it. There is only 1 thing I remember. At the middle point I believe they are in destroyed buildings apartments style completely surround by collapsed buildings. They zoom out it's getting dark and they have to survive the night in the building. I believe it is with tanks or something. but their is so Erie music playing I have no clue haha maybay some one of you who knows all movies can picture what I mean ? Would be great to see that movie was one of my favorite it was on tv when I was younger so it must be a movie before 2000.

  11. Lmfao yooooo, you a real G. YouTube wants $4 to watch this movie, you have it for free 🙂

  12. I watch this movie and Japanese commander

  13. I felt like Malick's TheThin Red Line is stylistically influenced by this

  14. Actors are not even good enough to B movie actors.

  15. I wanted to like this film. I really did. It just moved too slowly, had too many inaccuracies and frankly just plain awful acting. I'm glad I watched it and I understand that it was very much a product of it's times.

  16. well aint that special, jumps from scene to scene, ending is missing, uses 60`s iconography and is a 60`s era anti war film, better to move on,even uses late 50`s centurion tanks, best watched when extremely drunk, other wise move to next choice….lol

  17. thank you for the nod to the service of Latin Americans in the pacific — had one Tio on the Missouri and one on Iwo

  18. 子供のころTVで見た「Beach Red」 BEST WAR MOVIE

  19. In this movie, it shows that a ground troops of USMC has been sent in the Philippines during Liberation.

  20. This is not the full version – 15 minutes have been cut out. Otherwise great film. Very unconventional. Great job Cornel Wilde. Check the full version!!!

  21. What is wrong with this film? Slower than paint drying on a hot day. Predictable dialogue and hammy acting. Marines standing around on an active battlefield. Tanks that hadn't been invented yet (M 48's). Japanese soldiers Bansai charging with American M-1 Garande rifles. A combat photographer who seems never to run out of film or get hit, regardless of how much he exposes his head.. All this in a flick that has no plot apart from a beach landing that looks more like Vietnam than a Pacific island.

  22. Having read the Comments Section: there is another upload out there with no missing section….. although it does have Subtitles (Spanish ? I think).
V good, the memories and inner narration makes for an important War Fillum

  23. WWII movies like Beach Red, The Dirty Dozen, The Devil’s Brigade, Anzio, The Bridge at Remagen, Castle Keep, and Kelly’s Heroes all had their own hidden messages about the Vietnam War. They were all made at the height of the conflict. They all a gritty, anti-war vibe.

  24. adakah link yg berbahasa indonesia

  25. Yogi Berra baseball Great and funny guy was a US NAVY gunner on the landing crafts during D DAY, Omaha and Utah beaches,…….fired many rounds downrange at the German emplacements,…became a New York Yankee after the war,……..( and me being a diehard Red Sox fan!)….Good Bless you Mr. Berra!

  26. At 124:32 we lose a whole part of the movie.

  27. Didn't look like the US were shooting back very much. Not too realistic.

  28. Cornel Wilde went through some amazing changes in his life. Check his imdb page!

  29. The Walker Bulldog sure did the job!

  30. I never talked so much, especially after a firefight, we talked alright but just crap, scuttle-bute about who got hit how and where, if they lost their "stuff", but all of that Deep thinking makes me wretch. Sitting around eating, even around corpses, never looked at them, couldn't smell them, they were dead we were just glad they couldn't go home to their kids talking commie lies. We hated them and wanted them dead, but dead fair, not from a stinking boobytrap. Kids are everywhere and we liked them a lot. We admired the enemy because of the odds against them, felt sorry for them, but we still wanted them dead. Officers were easy to hate if they were cowards, and you knew if they were, especially after fifty years to think about it.

  31. Correction. One of the worst. Total, over the top, loads of crap that I have seen for years. Over kill with the message. We all know .war is a waste of time, money , and young lives.

  32. I really like old school movie they have such a gritty rigid and grainy feel to them. And the sound effects of the time are more aggressive then todays SFX.

  33. What a sappy movie. This isn't anywhere close to being the movie that was Saving Private Ryan. AND… there's a piece of the movie missing where Egan and Cliff get attacked by the lone Japanese soldier near the end of the movie! Crap. What a rip-off. It loses something when the climax is MISSING! Thumbs down for screwing up the download.

  34. What is the title of this movie?

    What year was it made?

  35. no plot & bad acting, no good all around
