  1. The Chinese have the most modern space station out of the two space stations.
The Chinese Beidou (MEO & GEO satellites) is much more advanced, resilient to disruptions and better than the American GPS (MEO satellites – the ones we use every day) in almost every way.
The Chinese Mars missions are set to return Mars samples to Earth in just a few years, potentially beating the American Mars missions on this by years.
Just an example, a very QUICK AND SIMPLE EXAMPLE

  2. There are so many indicators that suggest at what pace economic activity has continued to expand and block traders tend to know them better. For total size, Bureau of Economic Analysis uses the expenditure approach to calculate GDP, which tends to result in a larger figure than that from what National Bureau of Statistics of China uses the production approach. In terms of the more scientific PPP understanding of the real sizes, the US has the second largest economy in the world, around 75~80% the size of China's economy. If they both use the same method, it's hard to say which country's GDP is larger, but the PPP figures would likely be around 1 : 2 if not even worse. Just an example, a very QUICK AND SIMPLE EXAMPLE

  3. Since this happens all the time and is only going to get worse with climate change, why don't people learn from the problems in the past.

Build high areas in every paddock and plant trees around them. That way the animals can move to the higher ground by themselves and the trees around those areas will protect them from the weather (at least to some degree).

You don't need a 200 IQ to figure this out. Just build some areas that are 2 meters above the surrounding area so when it floods (and it's going to keep flooding in Queensland) the animals can simply go to high ground. It means the native animals can get out of the water. It means the cows, sheep, goats and horses can get out of the water. They won't suffer from hypothermia and there will be food and protection from the elements.

If you want to go even further, put some shelter on the high ground so they aren't getting rained on but just building islands (areas of high ground) in each paddock would save millions of animals any time this happens. This in turn would save farmers from pointing a gun to their head, and it would save the government a heap of money by not having to compensate farmers for lost livestock.

Major flooding and drought events are going to become worse. The only way to stop them is to stop using fossil fuel and to replant the planet, and we need to do it now. Stop clearing the land and replant it and put some islands in your paddocks.

And if you want to build a new house or shed in these areas, build the land up where the shed will go so it doesn't get flooded either.

  4. This is so sad.
I hope these farmers get a lot of financial help from the countries Australia helped and the Australian goverment focusing on helping our own for a change!

  5. I remember the sound of cows lowing when they were trapped by water in the Pomona floods
You feel so helpless. God it broke my heart.
That sound will haunt me forever.
I almost lost my horse in the Nambour floods as a teen.
    She was my heart 🤍

My love goes out to Thargaminda

  6. How many stories do we need to hear that could have been solved by long term preparation. Levy bank, raised buildings and raised land for livestock and or reserves where stock and wildlife can take refuge.
Crows nest could be made wider and higher.
