Australia’s Ruling Labor Party Proposes Visa Fee Hike for International Students

Australia’s international education sector is bracing for significant financial changes as both the ruling Labor Party and the opposition propose substantial increases to student visa fees. These moves come amid a growing national debate over immigration’s impact on the country’s housing market. The Labor Party has announced plans to raise the international student visa fee to approximately $1,300 if re-elected. This marks a considerable jump from the current fee, which already exceeds $1,000, having more than doubled from roughly $450 just last July. However, the conservative opposition is proposing even steeper fees. Their plan includes a minimum visa fee of nearly $1,600, with a staggering fee of over $3,000 for applicants to Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight universities. Watch this video to know more.

  1. I have an Indian parent but let me tell you something. Don’t come here if you’re going to a BS university. Firstly people don’t want you there. Secondly some of you don’t have the skills to survive here. Do not waste your parents hard earned money because let me tell you. No one is going to allow you to stay here.

  2. Students are not
The reason for housing shortage. I see new and empty houses everywhere everyday at least 30-40 houses brand new . It’s all a scam by the banks , government and politicians to keep prices high

  3. Instead of hiking student visa fees; the government should ban all international students from accessing their institutions. With this directive no student will apply to Australian Universities.
