Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has slammed Donald Trump’s “unjustified” tariffs stating they were not “the act of a friend”.

In his ‘Liberation Day’ announcement Trump singled out Australian beef exports and announced a 10 percent “reciprocal” tariff on all trade from Australia.

In a press conference today Albanese rejection the notion that Australia applied anything equivalent to a 10 per cent tariff on the US while slamming the decision as it would “add to uncertainty in the global economy and it will push up costs for American households.”

“We will stand up for Australia. We will continue to make the strongest case for these unjustified tariffs to be removed from our exporters.”

  1. Our trade with the USA Excluding weapons is not much anyways, we do more trade with the province of Guangdong alone than the entire USA yet the media and government which is controlled by the USA want to demonize China. Our citizens are being locked up in cages at the US boarder because they selected the wrong Visa online while China has given all Aussie passport holders 30days visa free travel. Last time an Aussie PM stood up to the USA he was overthrown and parliament dismissed by them. CANCEL AUKUS AND CLOSE ALL 9 US MILLITARY BASES ON AUSSIE SOIL.
