I don't know what devate you guys were watching, but Albanese cooked dutton. Then again, it's no surprise that these guys shill for Dutton.
These people are shameless. I’m so over the politicians from the major parties they are a joke.
Dutton, Once again has demonstrated just how UNFIT he is to be PM of Australia by VERBALING the PM of Indonesia and then on national television, having to admit that he has Lied Again. He is a very DESPERATE operator who throws up policy on the run without any costings. Dutton and the liberal coalition are a bunch of RABEL who can't be trusted to govern our country, full stop.
Swann and Labor are so out of touch and deluded. Get a grip
Don't vote for the GLOBALIST party's. I say dump green energy,it's a con. Vote for the best independent you can find.
Wef working labor and greens will have Australia like the uk if they get back in they have no plan to make anything better
All bull💩. All frauds
the privileged weak woke pro left media will try everything to derail Dutton for PM. albanese is the worst PM ever. get ready for a recession if they get back in…
Everything Albo says is a lie, he doesn’t have a problem with the truth, he just can’t ever tell the truth.
Anthony Albanese is a weak, woke, lying traitor to Australia and its people.
This is the answer from chatGPT that just all the option that they should consider and make sure everyone is on the same page. That’s a bold and interesting question — definitely not weird! Tackling cost of living and housing prices in Australia (or anywhere, really) is a huge challenge, but if we allow ourselves to think creatively — even radically — there are strategies that could work, especially over the long term. Let’s break this into layers: short-term relief, medium-term reform, and long-term systemic change.
⸻
Short-Term Strategies (1–3 years)
1. Build More Affordable Housing (Fast-Tracked Modular or Prefab Builds)
• Government-backed projects using prefabricated, modular homes on unused public land.
• Lower cost, quicker builds.
• Could target key workers and low-income families.
2. Incentivize Alternative Living Models
• Legalize and encourage tiny homes, van life, co-living spaces, and community land trusts.
• Reduce red tape around these unconventional setups.
3. Cap Rent Increases
• Temporary rent caps in high-pressure markets (like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane).
• Some states are considering this — with the right policy design, it could be a game-changer for renters.
4. Tax Incentives for Rent Reductions
• Tax breaks for landlords who keep rent below market rates or offer long-term secure leases.
⸻
Medium-Term Strategies (3–7 years)
5. Land Value Tax Instead of Stamp Duty
• Replace stamp duty with a recurring land tax to discourage speculation and make housing more fluid.
• Helps avoid housing being treated just as an investment.
6. Open Up Zoning Laws
• Densification of suburbs — legalize duplexes, triplexes, and low-rise apartments in traditionally single-home zones.
• Cities like Melbourne could absorb way more people without sprawl.
7. National Affordable Housing Body
• A single federal agency responsible for long-term planning and affordability goals — coordinating state/local policies.
8. Shared Equity Home Ownership
• Government or non-profits co-invest in property with individuals who can’t afford 100% upfront.
• This model is used in parts of Europe and helps bridge the wealth gap.
⸻
Long-Term Ideas (Visionary/Transformative)
9. Decommodify Housing
• Recognize housing as a human right, not just a financial asset.
• Encourage development of non-profit housing co-ops, long-term leases, and public housing with dignity.
10. Decentralize the Economy
• Invest heavily in regional areas with jobs, education, healthcare, and high-speed internet.
• Incentivize companies to go remote or relocate outside major cities to reduce urban pressure.
11. UBI (Universal Basic Income) or Negative Income Tax
• Helps people cover basic costs regardless of employment.
• Could directly ease living costs and rebalance bargaining power between renters and landlords.
12. Government-Owned Housing as a Baseline
• Government builds and maintains a significant portion of housing stock, setting the “floor” for the private market.
• If private landlords want to compete, they must offer better value.
⸻
Radical but Interesting
13. Public Land Reclaim
• Audit underutilized public land (military, industrial, infrastructure) and redevelop for social/affordable housing.
14. Crypto-Backed Co-Ownership Networks
• Blockchain-based housing co-ops with shared ownership, automatic profit sharing, and decentralized management.
15. Population Growth Strategy
• Adjust immigration and population targets to balance housing demand with supply growth more sustainably.
⸻
Would you want to look into how you personally could benefit from any of these — like buying into a co-op, building a tiny home on land, or even investing in prefab housing as a business? Or are you more into the big-picture reform and policy side of this?
He needs to promise state owned housing construction like Singapore and he'd have my vote.
the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, (people continue to vote either party's)most people dont even know politics they vote by who their parents did or who they like better, or never changing their vote, regardless, the 3 main parties have shown who they are for and its not the poor/working class, they wont let anyone get ahead at all
You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. DUTTON knocked out sleazy with lying on neg. Gearing, you don't even talk about it !!!
Wayne Swan, you get Swan, wake up. He's a giggling fool.
Dutton has the charisma of a wet sponge
People first, runs rings around these 2 of the same stuff again
Anthony you have let down Australia with your lies and bad government management have the honor and respect to step down and hand it over before things go from very bad to extremely worst! Be a man.
How did Dutton got all those house.. about 50 houses?? Why would he be ready to make house prices affordable.. Dutton is sleazy..
Albo 2 peter Dutton 0 2 debates albo beats Dutton no need to do a third debate 2 out 3 albo 2 peter Dutton 0 peter Dutton is getting the boot his fired
be careful not to by China Vacuum and mop that's all in one called Tinaco and it completely connects to a Chinese server to transmit and receive information you can turn it on and off audio ween u plug it in ween it says charging started on and off you can control it with your computer through a Chinese cloud server. so dont by any chinese be careful not to by China Electronics.
One thing that's clear is that neither of these two parties, independents or whatever have got any hope of turning this mess around anytime soon. So all the carrots being flung under our noses mean nothing. What is important though is what's been happening here over the last 3 years which has been nothing short of horrible, and what has happened in the US since their election. If you voted against the voice then it would be somewhat foolish to vote labor as they'd take that as a mandate to manufacturer a yes vote, not to mention mass migration ideology, attack on wealth and inheritance etc. Dutton is no Trump but you can be sure that Trump will work better with Dutton than woke and weak Albanese who will allow the hard left to call the shot as he's a total puppet. We can't be doing with another 3 whole years of that crap. Think about it.
Does anybody else think our prime minister looks and behaves like Mr bean? Lol
