“This is not the act of a friend.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has hit back at sweeping 10% tariffs to be imposed on Australian imports in the United States, describing them as “unwarranted” and having “no basis in logic”.

While Albanese confirmed Australia will not be imposing reciprocal tariffs on the US, he confirmed the government will be seeking to have the “unjustified” tariffs removed, threatening to use “dispute resolution” powers in the US-Australia free trade agreement in order to do so.

It was revealed yesterday that Australia has been considering taking the United Stated to the World Trade Organisation for breaching our free trade agreement and imposing tariffs on Australia in the first place.

  1. Albo wasting several billion Australian taxpayer dollars on subsidising 'green' hydrogen and 'green' steel were just seen by the US as a major anti-competitive measure.
The ALP green dream, a disaster for Australia over and over again.

  2. Misleading statement from Albanese, last year Aus exported 3 billion dollars of beef to US, however, Aus refuses to accept any beef in from the US, hence the logic surrounding the reciprocal tariffs being imposed by the US.

  3. If the media would tell the truth, people would know that Trump said whatever tariff other countries put on America, is what that country will be hit with… so, you reap what you sow. Maybe people should be jacking up about the fact the Australian government sold off everything here and scream at the government that we want our own home grown food and manufacturing back

  4. Lackies of the WEF agenda hidden in plain sight.
President Trump is going to drain the swamp in the US.
He's honouring his commitment to Make America Great Again.
He also honours the founding fathers document's,
Unlike career politicians pushing hard for the WEF agenda hidden in plain sight.
You can't call DJT names & expect not to get fired?.
Or are you all completely delusional?.🤔😂🏌️‍♂️🍍💥🙊🙉🙈

  5. Hahaha the party that has been denying the fact that supply and demand exists in the housing market, instead choosing to hyperfocus on supply and not even speak about the demand caused by their reckless immigration wants to talk about logic.

  6. Then why did you politicians allow our local car industry to die so we forced to buy overseas junk ? They don't give a damm because there paid so much and have so many perks inflation and cost of living doesn't affect them !

  7. but you banned the USA to import BEEF to Australia. You put 33%+ 10% GST tax on all cars above $60,000 , thats most cars imported to AU. ALL EXPORTS HAVE A 10% TARIFF BY THE Australian GOVERNMENT , ITS CALLED GST. Labor have no idea about logic.THIS tariff MEDIA , is to offset how bad the labor has run Australia.

  8. I regret Australia ripping up the French nuclear sub deal and signing one with the US. Trump rips up agreements at a drop of a hat and when we ripped up the French deal Trump's reelection was a clear risk. It we had stuck with France we would better inroads into the EU.

  9. Albo, Rudd, Wong and the rest of the Liebor gang have been attacking Trump personally for many years.

No wonder Trump won't answer your phone calls. You're a waste of time.

Yet Chinese navy ships do live fire exercises off our coast and not even a whimper of protest from you. Who is your allie Albo?

  10. It has nothing to do with economics people! It’s about protecting American global interests and strengthening the US as a superpower that isn’t reliant on foreign supply. Short term pain, long term gain. Plus JD Vance was pretty clear when he told Keir Starmer in no uncertain terms it’s about influencing the protection of freedom of speech globally!
