Treasurer Jim Chalmers has reacted to Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump’s disastrous meeting at the White House.
The two leaders clashed over peace negotiations with Russia, as the US President accused his Ukrainian counterpart of being disrespectful.
“Well, they speak for the American government’s position, and I speak for the Australian government’s position – I think President Zelensky is a hero,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
“The Australian position is unequivocal. We support the leader and the people of Ukraine, and we salute their really remarkable bravery.”
